AnaconDot is an interactive main banner game I built for the launch of the new Dots collection. The goal was to turn the website into a playful product experience, where visitors could earn points and compete for a coupon code while interacting with mechanics inspired by the real bracelet.
Players control a growing Dots bracelet and can enter their name at the beginning of the game. Letters are spread across the screen, and the player must collect them in the correct order to build their name on the bracelet and earn a significant bonus. The name is limited to 10 characters, just like the real bracelet, and every collected letter, diamond, and dot is added visually in the same way it would be assembled in real life. To balance the system, longer names have better chances of finding matching letters, while shorter names are harder because they depend on fewer specific characters.
The game starts with silver dots, but players can collect gold minerals to temporarily turn the bracelet gold and increase the value of the points they earn, reflecting the fact that gold is more valuable and expensive. Diamonds move the player to the next level, adding more dots to the screen and increasing the speed of AnaconDot. A dice item can shuffle the current letters on the screen into new random letters, giving players another chance to find the letters they need.
Special dots add risk, reward, and different ways to play. Collecting -1 dots removes regular dots from the stage and helps finish levels faster, but after collecting 10 of them, the player is punished with a tariff tax mode: maximum speed and many -10 hazards that can heavily reduce the score. Collecting +1 dots does the opposite by adding more dots and making the stage harder, but after 10 of them, the player is rewarded with Rush Hour mode, where many diamonds appear and create a chance to earn a much higher score.
